Put on Love.

When it comes to love so many people are so discouraged that they are ready to throw in the towel.

but wait...

God does more than give us good advice. He redeems us so that we have the power to love as He designed.

Only at the cross of Christ can a relationship be redeemed from the guilt and power of sin. Joy comes through a life of worship. "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11

John says that we love because God first loves us.

We present this response to Gods love for us in two steps. First we allow His grace to shape our lives... "Put on then, as Gods chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience." Col. 3:12 The second step is to use these virtues when friction or sin enters into the relationship, when you are let down or bothered by one another, "bearing with one another; forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you. So you must forgive." (col 3:14) It is hard to forgive. When you have been hurt. But it is impossible to grow in a healthy relationship unless sin can be conquered by loving forgiveness.

Christian love involves our response to God's grace: putting on Godly virtues, bearing with and forgiving one another and offering the sacrificial love we have received from Jesus Christ.
