why is love so hard between a man and a woman?
because of sin.
Sin and its outworking bring so much misery and frustrate our hope for the blessings of love. Sin is the rejecting of Gods authority, a denial of Gods goodness and truth. Adam sinned by worshiping eve in the place of God.
Don't put your partner on a pedestal.
The first effect of sin was alienation: the man and the woman could no longer be in fellowship with God, nor could they enjoy their previous fellowship with one another.
Sin twists commitment into selfishness, intimacy into secrecy and shame, and interdependence into conflict.
Instead of waiting on God, women are tempted to manipulate a man and capture him for marriage Instead of finding satisfaction in God, they seek happiness in a man.
Love between a man and a woman simply cannot work without love for God at the center of the relationship.
