Sometimes you have to watch someone love something before you can love it yourself. It is as if they are showing you the way.

extended spring break
with my parents leaving for the beach, and myself staying home for an interview, i feel as though my spring break has been extended.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. -- Romans 12:2
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. --1 John 2:15
Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? Of i were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. -- Galatians 1:10
Pray for the courage to seek God's approval above everyone else's.

consuming fire
So stay alert. Don't for a minute forget the covenant which God, your God, made with you. And don't take up with any carved images, no forms of any kind—God, your God, issued clear commands on that. God, your God, is not to be trifled with—he's a consuming fire, a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:23-24
The Lord is a consuming fire.
Because He is morally perfect.
He paid the ultimate price -- sacrifice.
Who are we in Christ?

i dont want to be a martha
As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home. She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. "Master, don't you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand."
The Master said, "Martha, dear Martha, you're fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it's the main course, and won't be taken from her."
Mary and Martha both loved Jesus. On this occasion they were both serving him. But Martha thought Mary's style of serving was inferior to hers. She didnt realize that in her desire to serve, she was actually neglecting her guest. Are we so busy that we don't spend time with Jesus? Jesus did not blame Martha for being concerned about household chores. He was only asking her to set her priorities.

It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God. -- 1 Peter 3:3-4

while on a drive....
Yesterday i took a nice little drive, with new music on my ipod and no particular destination in mind, i jumped in my green explorer and took off. I ended up here...
it was a nice little adventure. I climbed rocks, lots of rocks just to get to the water. I never climb anything, so it was quite an accomplishment for me. Here are some pictures I took.
What a day! How was yours?

as Easter approaches....
I can't help but fee my own convictions. Lately there has been this one homeless man. He has been put on my heart a lot lately. It really makes me stop and think about how blessed i am. and also how ungrateful i seem. This man is always on this corner, which either means i'm there to much or he is there too much. I think i want to makde him a meal. and go and take it to him. not just give him money. I alwasy found that hard to do, but as I drove past him and prayed God said to help him. I plan to pack him a lunch and take it to him tomorrow.
Moving on....
I have been reading 2 Peter and this verse stuck out ot me.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Time. Time has always been my downfall. It took me a long time, and sometimes it still haunts me, that my time isn't Gods time. Patience is something i am working on, slowly but surely. In this chapter God may seem slow to the believers as they faced persecution everyday and wanted to be delivered quickly. God is not slow, its just not our time and America today has become very fast paced. Jesus is waiting so that more sinners will repen and turn to Him. We must not sit and wait for Christ to return, but we shoud realize that we need to live in the short time we are given, we all have important work to do.
